This book is a collection of odd meter rhythmic motifs written in 4/4 time. Each exercise features one simple motif cycled through all possible four bar permutations of the phrase. The repetitive cycling of the motif creates a circular, polyrhythmic, "over the bar line feeling" by implying a different time signature on top of the original 4/4 meter.
